WHO WE ARE?
OUR MISSION
The Centre for Financial Markets and Regulatory Systems (CFMRS) is an academic centre at the NLIU Bhopal. The Centre seeks to promote informed engagement with issues relating to financial governance, financial market and market regulation. It focuses on encouraging structured research, critical dialogue and policy oriented discussions in areas such as financial markets, investor protection and regulatory frameworks. It reflects a growing recognition of the need for greater academic attention to the evolving interface between law, finance and public policy.
CFMRS aims to cultivate a well informed academic ecosystem by facilitating research oriented activities, expert interactions, seminars and collaborative initiatives that address contemporary challenges in the financial sector. It provides a platform for students to engage with professionals, regulators and scholars, while developing analytical perspectives on regulatory practices and market dynamics. Through its initiatives, the Centre seeks to enhance awareness and understanding of financial regulatory systems while promoting discourse that strengthens transparency, stability, and investor confidence.
MEET THE TEAM

PROF. DR. S. SURYA PRAKASH
PATRON
Prof (Dr). S. Surya Prakash has been serving as Vice Chancellor of National Law Institute University, Bhopal from 01-June-2023. Prior to this, he served as Vice Chancellor of Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam and as Founder Vice Chancellor of Maharastra National Law University, Aurangabad (Maharastra) and Professor of Law at NLIU, Bhopal. (M.P). He started his career as a Lecturer at M.R.V.R.G.R. Law College in Vizianagaram and was the first lecturer of the law college. He has more than 30 years’ experience in academics and worked as Lecturer, Principal, DNR College of Law, Bhimavaram, AP, Faculty Member of NUJS, Kolkata and Principal, Law College, Nanded, Maharashtra before joining in NLIU, Bhopal. He obtained his B.L. from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, A.P. and Master of Law from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, A.P. with first class in the area of Labour and industrial Law. He was also awarded the University Prize’ V.N.Deekshitulu Award” for securing highest marks in the branch of Labour laws. Later he was awarded Ph.D. in law from Berhampur University, Odisha.

DR. KRATI RAJORIA
CHAIRPERSON
Dr. Krati Rajoria is an Associate Professor at National Law Institute University Bhopal (NLIU). Before joining NLIU she was working as Associate Professor and Head of the Department, Law at Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Gwalior (PIMRG). She has also taught at Amity Law School, AUMP and National Law University, Jodhpur. She has authored a short book on Maritime Law and textbook on Company Law (1st, 2nd and 3rd editions) and has revised Dr. R.K. Bangia’s book on Company Law. She has delivered invited lectures in various national and international seminars, conferences, and workshops in the domain of corporate law and legal writing. She has also presented papers in international and national conferences including the prestigious Asian Law Institute Conference organized by National University Singapore twice in 2020 hosted by NLU Delhi and in 2024 hostel by Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok (Thailand) and in the Asian Law School Association Conference 2024 hosted by University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She has also published several research papers in reputed journals
